Mob Boss Strain Review – Bonza Blog
In the cannabis world, some strains dominate while others tend to be gentle in effects. While some are slow in manifesting its presence, others such as the Mob Boss starts to take effect in no time at all.
Packing an insanely high THC, it may not be the ideal strain for beginners. However, that depends on which phenotype as it has two. While the first does deliver a high-intensity mental buzz, the other induces a gentler clear-headed high.
Grindhouse Medical Seeds released Mob Boss back in 2009. The Sativa influence of the strain is mostly due to Tang Tang, a hybrid the breeder previously developed, and the powerhouse Chemdawg.
Following the distinguished reputation of its parents, Mob Boss boasts of massive resin production. Besides its obvious appeal to recreational users, it is also not without its medical use. Indeed, it is a strain for the ages.

Odor and Flavors
Mob Boss has its way of surprising the senses with its refreshing aroma. With its sweet and citrusy note blending with an herbal fragrance, the pungent scent can quickly fill up a room in an instant. While it leaves a spicy and lemony aftertaste, its smoke can be a little bit harsh.
Mob Boss has two phenotypes. The first and more widely available one induces a clear headed high. While it appears to be the gentler of the two, one should also never underestimate it. At best, the strain packs up to 24% THC. In other words, use it a little bit too much, and it can become overbearing.
Mob Boss is a happy strain in that it delivers an uplifting buzz that not only enhances the mood but also brings one to the point of euphoria. It supplies limitless energy to keep users on the go. The strain also promotes creative thinking as well as keeping people motivated and entirely focused on things to do.
If one were to use the other phenotype, then its cerebral effects become more pronounced. Thrill seekers should have loads of fun with the intense mental buzz it generates while it may be too daunting for someone who is new to using cannabis.
A nice touch to the Mob Boss is that after a euphoric high, it gradually settles into a calming body bliss. One thing though is that at this point, most people are likely to feel the munchies.
Using cannabis in moderation is sound advice. For example, it is known to cause some adverse effects such as dry mouth and eyes. Some may also feel a slight headache. These conditions could become more pronounced if one were to use too much. Also, it may lead to other unwanted effects such as feeling paranoid or anxious.
Medical Use and Benefits
The pharmacological value of Mob Boss is not lost on medical cannabis users. It is especially helpful for people suffering from depression and similar mental health issues. Its ability to bring an instantaneous mood enhancement can play a role in managing these conditions. Not to mention, it busts stress leaving users upbeat and cheerful. Because it makes people feel energetic, some may use it to ward off fatigue.
Another benefit that Mob Boss can provide is pain relief. As it soothes the muscle and induces relaxation, it can lessen or take away aches from muscles spasms and other discomforts.
As mentioned, Mob Boss can induce the munchies. Hence, it can be useful in stimulating the appetite.
Growing Mob Boss
Like a proud head of a crime family, Mob Boss boasts of fiery red hairs sticking out from light green leaves. It has very dense buds which can grow from small to medium size. The silvery trichomes coating the colorful flowers give the entire plant a sheen appearance.
Mob Boss grows well indoors and outdoors, but it is not for beginners. In the hands of experienced growers or experts, it can produce flowers that are not only massive on its effects but also its yield.
Outdoors, the best environment for Mob Boss to thrive is in a warm and semi-humid place that is similar to the Mediterranean. Ideally, the temperature should not be any lower than 21 degrees Celsius. It can grow up to 120 cm tall – not at all like typical Sativa plants. It starts flowering in the first week of October and by the time it is ready for harvest, growers better be prepared to pick some 800 grams of this premium quality weed.
Choosing to cultivate Mob Boss indoors is also an excellent idea. With its pungent aroma, putting it inside a grow tent or room allows one to install an odor-control filter. It has a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks with an expected yield of 700 grams per square meter.
During post-harvest, growers must cure the harvested buds properly. This process helps preserve the flavor and the potency of the strain. For safekeeping, it can be stored in airtight jars.
