Odor and Flavors
Warm and calming, this strain has many similar features to herbal tea. Upon closer inspection, it swirls in different earthy flavors such as blended spices and crushed herbs with lemon zest undertones along with a sweet hint of honey. Its flavors are just as invigorating but highlight a citric aftertaste during the exhale.
Universally, a Laughing Buddha is known to bring fortune, and abundance in life. Similar to how rubbing its belly brings forth such prosperity, rolling a joint of this strain increases good luck.
Its carefree and charming nature is often a go-to mood lifter for many who feel down in the dumps. At the onset, a rush of energy flows through the veins in waves. It uplifts users, prompting many to be quick on their feet.
Most of the time, however, users end up engaged in a lively conversation with friends. It is not particularly hard to spot the good vibes as giggles escape and one cannot help but smile from ear to ear. For this reason, it is a great recreational strain that will have a room roaring with laughter as happy memories and stories are shared.
In keeping the head clear, expect a mountain of work to feel like a walk in the park. More than just ticking off tasks from a checklist though, users actually enjoy themselves as the motivating buzz can turn even mundane errands fun.
In time, a tingling sensation spreads all over, making one feel limber and lighter. Perhaps the best part about the jolly high it delivers though is that it encourages smokers to simply feel happy. Veterans and beginners alike can share a good time with this strain.
While the strain aims to alleviate anxiousness and dispel negative emotions, over-indulging can lead to the said effects. This is especially true for beginners who are vulnerable to the strong, head-centered high that Laughing Buddha induces. Feeling of paranoia often spike up along with a mild headache. For this reason, it is better to start with low dosages in order to fully enjoy the strain’s benefits.
Suffering from an irritating cottonmouth and dry eyes are two of the most common reactions as well. Most users usually ignore the symptoms due to its mildness. However, if the ache continues throughout the day, it is best to stay hydrated by drinking water during the session.
Medical Use and Benefits
Laughter, along with an upbeat disposition, is truly a great companion during treatments. This is precisely why Laughing Buddha provides comfort to users undergoing therapy for either mental or physical pain.
Buddha is often seen carrying a sack of what many believe were people’s woes. In a similar manner, the strain undoes the stress that weighs users down and packs it into a bag to be thrown out within just a puff or two. Free from burden, it is not long until happiness and good fortune come to the with heath issues such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD.
The rush of energy is also a great force against symptoms of fatigue. With such clear-headedness and lightweight effects, users feel like seizing the day while it lasts. Moreover, the totally reinvigorating effects keep tiredness at bay.
In addition, a THC of up to 18% contains analgesic properties that soothe pains caused by backaches, headaches, and muscle spasms while encouraging a hearty appetite.
Growing Laughing Buddha
Truly a strain that keeps on giving, this plant is known to reward its cultivators with an abundant yield. Although, one may have to wait for more than a few weeks as the plant needs to adjust to the colder weather of the northern hemisphere.
Laughing Buddha grows up to 200 cm and will have to be topped early during the vegetative stage to keep its height manageable. However, growers will have to be careful while pruning the plant as it can stunt the spacing between its nodes as well as bud growth.
In addition, growers should provide support to its lanky stalks through staking. This will keep it from drooping under the weight of its large buds and colas or, in the case of outdoor growers, from being blown away by harsh winds.
Indoors, Laughing Buddha has a flowering time of 10 to 12 weeks. Although the wait is long, each square meter of plants will yield 450 to 650 grams of buds.
Based on its landrace lineage, outdoor cultivation means that it flourishes better in a warm or tropical climate along with consistent daytime sunlight. For this reason, it flowers quite late – around the second to fourth week of October – in countries that have four seasons and limited day time. However, it will surprise its growers with an abundant yield of 650 grams of buds per plant.
