Black Cherry Soda Strain Review – Bonza Blog
Mother Nature sure does know how to spoil people. Aside from the colorful scenery a person enjoys during impromptu trips, there are beautiful cannabis plants that are not only beautiful but also a pleasure to use. Black Cherry Soda is one of those great gifts.
In reality, it might as well be a gift since it was given to TGA Genetics by their friend Fat Dave. To be clear, TGA did not develop this strain and they have explained that in several publications. Furthermore, the exact genetics of Black Cherry Soda remains cloaked in mystery. One theory is that it may actually be the Blackberry Kush. Others claimed it is a cross between this and that strain. Amidst all the vagueness surrounding its lineage, one thing is clear. It is one of the best smelling and tasting strains that delivers an excellent experience.
Black Cherry Soda does not have much of CBD. Even so, it is a little bit higher than most other strains. Where it excels, though, is in its THC that could be as much as 25%. As such, expect the hybrid to deliver the type of Sativa high that appeals to most recreational users as well as bring comfort to people suffering from illnesses.
Unfortunately, TGA Genetics has opted to discontinue the strain. They did develop other hybrids using it as one of the parent strains. Until they decide to put it out on the market, the closest to Black Cherry Soda would be some of its offspring such as Black Dahlia and Ace of Spades.

Odor and Flavors
Black Cherry Soda takes people back to the carefree days of childhood when fruity candies and soda were a staple of life. And that is how it is for this fragrant cannabis strain. It has a hint of berry sweetness blending with its earthy smell. Its smoke has a creamy aftertaste with a spicy note that makes it smooth on the throat. In essence, the strain already comes with an insanely delectable aroma, but it tastes even better.
Despite possessing anywhere from 15% to 25% THC, the psychoactive properties of the strain do not seem to lead to narcotic-like high or a psychedelic experience. It is a fast-acting strain that induces an intense Sativa head high soon after the first couple of tokes.
The uplifting buzz not only clears the head, but it also unlocks the creative side of people. As new ideas come into the mind, most people also have a sharper focus. On behavior, the euphoric sensation induces an overwhelming sense of happiness. Physically, the mild body high is enough to cause relaxation. At the same time, most people also tend to feel energetic and motivated.
Black Cherry Soda is an excellent hybrid for use in the morning as it helps kick start the day. And throughout the day, it can also be used because it does not cause a heavy sedation.
Black Cherry Soda is just like any other marijuana strain that often makes the eyes and mouth dry after a few puffs. For new users, this may be uncomfortable. One way to alleviate the symptoms is by drinking water and keeping the throat moist. In most cases, though, users are not even going to feel these symptoms as their minds focus on the uplifting head and body buzz.
Some people are simply more susceptible to panic attacks or anxiety. If that is the case, then this is not the best hybrid to use as it may cause people to feel more anxious or paranoid.
Medical Use and Benefits
Many cannabis strains, especially the ones with dominant Indica sides, have sedating traits that cause uses to fall asleep. Being Sativa-dominant, Black Cherry Soda is not likely to lead to that. Instead, it energizes users. Combined with a clear-headed high and better able to focus, most people remain productive.
It also induces a euphoric feeling, which in turn, can melt away stress. At the same time, it helps people suffering from anxiety and depression focus on the positives. By inducing a sense of happiness, it helps people manage their emotions better.
Psychologically, Black Cherry Soda helps with mild pain relief. As users tend to focus on positive things, they are able to ignore minor discomforts.
Growing Black Cherry Soda
The only way to cultivate Black Cherry Soda is to get a clipping from TGA Genetics, and that is almost impossible. At any rate, if one were to get ahold and clone the plant, it will thrive in a warm climate but tolerant of colder environments. In fact, one of the things people could do is to place it in an area that is cooler before flowering period to induce the purple hue.
Growers opting to cultivate the strain indoors can use hydroponics for faster growth. A better option, though, is to use soil as a medium for optimal flavors. It should be ready for flowering within 8 to 10 weeks, with each square meter having a yield of over 350 grams of buds.
Outdoors, Black Cherry Soda can reach as high as 2 meters. So as long as there is plenty of sunshine, it will thrive and produce as much as 450 grams of buds each. Flowering period of the strain falls between September and October.
