Odor and Flavors
Of the three parent strains, Sour Diesel has the most influence on the Three Kings with regards to its aroma. As soon as users break the nugs, the pungent smell of fuel mixed with the fresh scent of earth can fill the room. Some people may need to take a little bit of time before they become accustomed to its aroma. Once they do, then it is the type of scent that one keeps looking forward to even if it was not like that in the beginning.
Once lit, the distinct of pine is added to its scent. Contrary to the perception induces by its strong odor, its aroma is less pronounced when smoked. Instead, the smoothness and a sweet note can prove to be delightful for most people. Also present is a taste that is reminiscent of Hash.
The most sought-after effects from its parents are packed in this tiny glistening bud. Thus, it is the cannabis royalty for recreational users.
With some 70% of the strain leaning towards Sativa, its effects are mostly cerebral. When smoked, a high-powered euphoric buzz comes surging into the mind. Instantly, users feel the burden of the world vanishing. In its place is a renewed sense of happiness. Feeling uplifted, most users tend to experience an intense euphoric cerebral high. Used in moderation, most people will also have a clear head with the ability to crank out ideas. Furthermore, the higher level of mental alertness also helps the users complete their tasks.
The smaller Indica side of Three Kings is not to be underestimated too. While less dominant, it is still powerful enough to put people at ease. At up to 24% THC, it is easy for the cerebral effects to become overwhelming. But the Indica traits of the strain blends in nicely and prevents the mental high from going overboard.
As some people say, this is Headband, Sour Diesel, and OG Kush in one. Three Kings is not just tagged as royalty because of its lineage. It is also because it makes users feel like royalty.
The potency of Three Kings must not be underestimated. Undesired reaction aside from dry eyes and mouth may occur especially for novice users. Use it beyond personal tolerance limit, and the annoyances become more pronounced.
For instance, overindulgence may cause some people to feel anxious or even paranoid. In essence, what is supposed to be a relaxing time is negated by such adverse effects. During the height of the cerebral buzz, a few people may also experience feeling a little dizzy. It does not cause any long-term harm though. Typically, any side effects are gone as soon as the effects of the strain begin to subside.
Even seasoned users may feel these effects even after a few tries. That is why beginners must use only a small amount to enjoy the benefits of this majestic strain.
Medical Use and Benefits
Three Kings, much like many strains, do not specifically have ingredients that can treat diseases. An exemption is CBD, which is used as a drug to cure seizures and epilepsy. Because the CBD level of this strain is negligible, much of its medical benefits is a result of the effects it provides.
For instance, one of the most popular uses of this strain among medical users is for stress relief. It is mainly due to the uplifting and euphoric buzz it generates. Consequently, this same benefit allows people to better manage their emotion. Hence, it becomes useful for those with depression.
The Indica side of the strain, in inducing relaxation, also play a role as a muscle relaxant with its anti-inflammatory properties. As such, it can also provide comfort from pains caused by chronic illnesses including headaches, migraine, and arthritis. To a certain degree, it may also help people deal with gastrointestinal disorders such as relief from nausea and vomiting.
Growing Three Kings
Three Kings is not the easiest strain to grow, but that is not to say that beginners cannot cultivate it. One reason for that is because it is prone to molds and pests. At any rate, growers do have the choice of planting it indoors or outdoors.
Indoor, the strain has a flowering period of 9 to 10 weeks. The estimated yield per square meter could reach as much as 600 grams.
If grown outdoors, the plant is likely to thrive in temperate to warm climate. It should start to transition to bloom stage in the third to fourth week of October. During harvest, each plant could produce as much as 700 grams.
