Space Queen Strain Review
Some people like it slow and gentle while others like it the other way around. If it is speeding from one galaxy to another all over the universe, the right strain to use is Space Queen.
Of course, the reference to the universe does not mean that this strain can cause hallucinations. Used in moderation, it does induce an intense cerebral euphoria. However, overuse and it brings on some mind-bending effects.
While it is almost a balanced hybrid, Space Queen tilts more to its Sativa side. From different accounts, the original breeder of the strain is Vic High of BC Growers Association.
To create Space Queen, the breeder used two strains. One is the heavy-hitting Indica dominant Romulan. It is one that is notable for its intoxicating full-body high. Fans of Star Trek should recognize the name as it is taken from an alien race in the movie franchise. Another strain used is Cinderella 99 (C99). Bred by Brothers Grimm, this hybrid delivers an uplifting dreamy cerebral high.
From time to time, seeds of Space Queen appear on some online retailers or seed banks. To be clear, it is unclear if the original Space Queen still exists. In most sites, the assumption is that Space Queen is also called by another name, Space Jill. To a certain extent, that may very well be true. However, the latter is actually a remake of the former by TGA Subcool Seeds using the same genetic lineage.

Odor and Flavors
Despite the reference to its being a descendant of an alien race, Space Queen emits an earthy scent with a hint of citrus and pineapple. Upon inhaling the smoke, much of how it smells is exactly how it tastes. It does come with a spicy and sweet lingering aftertaste.
Space Queen is very potent. It is also fast-acting. Upon using, a euphoric sensation races to the mind and the body. Not only does it uplift the spirit but it also influences an overall sense of happiness. Used in moderation, the mental buzz results in clarity of the mind and better focus. Feeling energetic and motivated, most people should have no trouble doing their tasks. Furthermore, the energizing effects of the strain also result in a more active mind in that it unleashes the creativity.
The Indica side of Space Queen will not remain dormant for long, though. Soon, it starts to creep into the body. By soothing the muscles and releasing the tension, users begin to feel lighter and more relaxed.
Should users use too much, it can lead to a psychedelic high. The buzzing cerebral effects can be trippy and leave users heavily stoned.
For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. That’s Newton’s third law of motion, and the same thing can be applied to cannabis. For every puff a smoker takes, it can also have some adverse reactions.
One of the most common reactions is cotton mouth or dry mouth accompanied with dry eyes. It is usually mild but can be uncomfortable for the users. The most logical thing to do is to stay hydrated.
In rare instance and usually as a result of using beyond personal limits, some people may feel a little paranoid or have a mild headache. Some people may also feel dizzy with the buzzing high of the strain.
Medical Use and Benefits
Space Queen is an excellent hybrid for recreational users. Besides the thrilling experience it induces, the same traits also have medical benefits.
As some struggle with mental health problems, this cannabis aids in relieving stress by inducing a euphoric feeling. It also gives relief to people with anxiety, depression and even PTSD. By uplifting the mood and influencing happiness, patients can better cope and manage their emotions and thoughts.
The Indica side of Space Queen also comes with sedating traits. It helps people deal with muscle spasms by soothing the muscles. As a result, users fall into a deep state of relaxation. In this way, the strain provides comfort to people suffering from pains and aches caused by chronic diseases.
Some people can use this strain as a source of temporary energy. Of course, that means they have to use only a small enough that is enough to induce an energetic buzz but not enough as to be overwhelmed.
Growing Space Queen
Space Queen is not an easy strain to cultivate. Hence, beginners should look for an easier one to grow. Under the hands of experts though, it will thrive equally well regardless if it is planted indoors or outdoors.
If grown indoors, it flourishes well with the Sea of Green (SOG) or Screen of Green (SCROG) training methods. Bear in mind that since it can be lengthy and spindly, growers must have enough support for the canopy. The plant should be ready for flowering in 7 to 9 weeks. Each square meter should have a yield of 100 to 250 grams.
Outdoors, Space Queen can reach 150cm tall. It thrives very well in a warm climate with an average temperature of 31 degrees Celsius. Flowering time occurs in the first week of October with each plant producing up to 300 grams of buds.
