Quantum Kush Strain Review – Bonza Blog
Not all hybrids are alike. At the same time, quality varies too. Quantum Kush, in this regard, sets itself apart as one of the top 10 strains of 2014 by High Times. Being Sativa-dominant, its effects are mostly cerebral. While it delivers a clear-headed high when used in moderation, it could also be quite intense as it possesses an unusually high amount of THC.
The accolade given to this hybrid is nothing new in its lineage. Disregarding the older generations, its immediate predecessor Timewreck is, itself, the winner of the 2010 High Times Medical Cannabis Cup in San Francisco. A product of TGA Subcool Seeds, it is difficult to fathom how else they could further improve the plant.
Still, that did not stop the breeder from pairing Timewreck with Sweet Irish Kush (also called Sweet Kush or Irish Kush). Consequently, this hybrid passed off some of its Indica traits to add a twist in the offspring.
In essence, Quantum Kush is a somewhat tapered down version of Timewreck. It still has the potential to deliver a mind-bending high, but the body effects blend in to act as an anchor to keep it in check.

Odor and Flavors
While Timewreck has an intense citrusy lemon scent, the sweet and earthy aroma of Sweet Irish Kush is more pronounced in Quantum Kush. This blending produces a highly delightful tropical scent with floral notes. Furthermore, this fragrance carries well over to its flavor profile.
Quantum Kush delivers a highly pronounced mental stimulation. Not long after manifesting, it clears the mind paving the way for an influx of thoughts and ideas. It might be intense during the onset but is soon stabilizes leaving users incredibly sensitive to the surroundings.
Apart from the clear-headed high, it is also reinvigorating. As the mood lightens, a sense of happiness envelops users. Feeling energized and motivated, it inspires people to be physically active and productive.
Later, a warm body buzz swarms into the body bringing a sense of contentment. Its uplifting sensation helps brighten the day as it promotes an upbeat and cheery feeling.
Quantum is an excellent wake-and-bake hybrid that people can use throughout the day. However, it users should note that it contains up to 30% THC. Use a little bit too much, and it could result in an overwhelming psychedelic high. It may not have potent sedative-like properties. Nonetheless, it still can deliver a debilitating cerebral experience.
Even when used in moderation, users can expect to experience cottonmouth. Not only that, but it is also normal for the eyes to feel dry. During the onset, it could slightly increase blood pressure before settling down. And, if one were to stand from a seated position abruptly, some people are likely going to feel dizzy.
Another condition that some people might experience if having a headache. And, when overindulging, then it could also cause a few users to feel paranoid.
Medical Use and Benefits
Among its most notable uses for medicinal purposes, stress relief is at the top of the list. It also follows that its euphoric and uplifting effects could also melt away depression.
Throughout the psychedelic high, it promotes sharp focus. As such, it could be beneficial to people with ADHD/ADD.
Meanwhile, it leaves users feeling reinvigorated by boosting the energy level. Instead of being slowed down by fatigue, it kick-starts the body and then keeps users on the go.
The medical use of Quantum Kush is not limited to mental or behavioral. It is also helpful in dealing with physical discomforts. Like medical cup winner Timewreck, it has painkilling properties that provide a reprieve from joint and muscle pains.
Growing Quantum Kush
A tall and stretchy plant that could reach 180cm, growers should top Quantum Kush early during the vegetative stage if grown indoors. It takes around 8 to 9 weeks of flowering before it is ready for harvest. In some cases, leaving it for another week could significantly improve its overall fragrance, flavors, and potency. During harvest, it yields 450 to 550 grams of buds per meter square.
Outdoors, keeping it in a dry and warm climate is ideal. It seems to do better in an ample open space as each plant could produce up to 700 grams each during harvest in October.
