Jesus OG Strain Review – Bonza Blog
Is there a cannabis strain that can take users to heaven? As it turns out, there is one. It boasts of a soaring cerebral experience that keeps recreational users coming back for more.
Once TGA Subcool Seeds decided that a strain they developed is ready for the market, the name they picked may be controversial. For the devout, it may even be blasphemous. Considering that one of the parent strains is called Hell’s Angel OG, the choice of using Jesus OG certainly raises eyebrows.
It took a long time for TGA Subcool Seeds to develop Jesus OG. First, they had to spend at least two years preparing a suitable female Kush. Eventually, they decided on a cut of Hell’s Angel OG. They then used it to cross with a male Jack the Ripper (Jacks Cleaner x Space Queen).
As one can see, both the parent strains used have ‘notorious’ names. But the notoriety is not only in their names but also with the effects that they deliver. For instance, Jack the Ripper is known for its incredibly intense cerebral effects that can cause mental confusion. Not to be outdone, Hell’s Angel OG can also deliver quite a similar experience.
Put the genetics of Jack the Ripper and Hell’s Angel OG together in one strain, and the result is a hybrid that comes with an extreme psychoactive experience.

Odor and Flavors
Jesus OG emits a peculiar yet enticing combination of aroma. It produces a distinct lemony note blending with an earthy undertone. The pungent odor of the strain carries over to its taste, but it is indeed not overpowering. In fact, most people should appreciate the citrusy aftertaste that lingers upon exhalation.
The amount used determines exactly how one wants to experience the effects of Jesus OG. Understand that the amount of THC is not constant. Even at its lowest, this strain is still very potent. At best, it is insane.
Jesus OG is a fast-acting cannabis. As soon as one smokes it, it begins with a mild rush to the head. The gentle high soon turns to an electrifying buzz that induces cerebral euphoria. Used in only a small amount, it can make for an excellent wake-and-bake strain. The buzzing continues to build up even as it spreads all over the body.
At this point, the uplifting sensation is so intense that bliss and happiness is the only thing that one feels. Mentally, it clears the head and heightens the senses of users. It is also not uncommon for thoughts and ideas to come fleeting into the mind. Some people describe this experience as being conducive to intellectual thoughts.
All the above sounds fun and relaxing but try using a little bit more. With that, Jesus OG now takes users to a whole new level of cerebral high. The buzz intensifies to the point of causing narcotic-like effects. Some people may even feel mental confusion.
While the Indica properties of the strain are quite subdued compared to the Sativa traits, it is still potent enough to induce body relaxation. On the extreme side, the deep relaxation is often accompanied by a couch-lock. It is not so much because of sedating properties but more due to the paralyzing mental effects.
Using cannabis means accepting the adverse effects that it causes. Surprisingly, for a strain that comes with extreme psychoactive properties, the conditions users can expect is not eye-popping in any way at all.
There is the usual dry mouth and to a lesser extent, dry eyes. Even in moderation, these two conditions are likely to occur, but in most cases, they are mild. But once users do end up using too much, then the symptoms become more pronounced. Also, it may also lead to other reactions.
It should be noted that along with the psychedelic effects, some people may also feel more anxious as well as a bit paranoid. So, that is something to think about before using this strain especially the beginners.
Medical Use and Benefits
When it comes to pharmacological use, Jesus OG cannot be used to treat seizures and related illnesses. The psychoactive properties, though, do come with benefits.
Of the many medical cannabis users who have used Jesus OG, the top benefit it provides is in casting away stress. People with depression and related conditions also find it useful as an aid in enhancing their mood.
Another frequent use of cannabis is for pain relief. Jesus OG is not the best strain for this purpose. Still, it is enough to provide comfort in mild cases of pains and aches.
The strain delivers an energetic boost. It is this invigorating high that keeps users active and motivated. Used for this purpose, it helps people fight off fatigue.
Growing Jesus OG
Cultivate it indoors or outdoors; growers will find Jesus OG a joy. Unfortunately, it may not be that easy to grow. That is not to say that first-time growers cannot cultivate it successfully though.
Indoors, growers can top off early to keep it short and bushy. It also responds well to Low-Stress Training (LST). The flowering time of Jesus OG falls between 8 to 9 weeks during which the next phase can be triggered by changing the light cycle. Be faithful in cultivating this plant for the reward comes in the form of as much as 400 grams per square meter.
For those who have the luxury of growing this plant outdoors, a warm climate is its best environment. The flowering time occurs between September and October with each plant producing up to 500 grams of buds.
