Black Jack

Everything people do come with risk. Doing a business does not guarantee income. Placing bets does not mean one will win. But ask any gambler what the one thing that wants is, and everyone will say the same thing. A sure win. Now, the idea of winning all the time is absurd. If there is one sure win, then it is not in the casinos, but right in the comfort of the home holding a pack or jar containing Black Jack.

Sticking to the same premise, breeding cannabis hybrids also comes with risks. For instance, one can spend years and years and still come out empty handed. Or, one can release a hybrid, and it flops. Of course, that risk is significantly reduced if the breeders know exactly what they are doing. Take Sensi Seeds for instance. They have been doing this for decades. So, it has come to a point in which whenever they release something new, then it must be good.

Using two of their most potent Indica and Sativa dominant strains, they set out to develop a sure win hybrid. One is the mostly Indica Black Domina known for its ultimately relaxing effects. The other is the Sativa-dominant Jack Herer, known for its euphoric high as well as serving as a base for countless other prominent hybrids. As one can see, the choice of winners resulted in the sure-win Black Jack.

Since then, Black Jack was passed on to a new breeder, Sweet Seeds. Though there might be some confusion since another seed bank called Nirvana Seeds has a hybrid that goes by the same name. Nonetheless, the original is still the most sought-after. It has won numerous awards and is considered as one of their most powerful plant. Needless to say, this Indica dominant strain is a good choice for both recreational and medical cannabis users.

Odor and Flavors

Black Jack has an aroma that is irresistible to all sorts of cannabis users. Just like Jack Herer’s distinct smell, this strain emits an earthy smell with hints of wood. As the buds are broken, it oozes with a scent of pine.

The flavor of Black Jack is quite similar to how it smells but only milder. Upon smoking, a gentle taste of earthiness and pine tingles the tongue. As the flavor develops, this strain delivers a surprisingly sweet note of citrus.

Effects

Black Jack is not considered as a world-famous hybrid for nothing. One would think that just like its aroma, it inherited its effects from its parents. That may very well be the case except that it leans towards the Indica side and more importantly, comes with much higher psychoactive properties.

With its THC content tested to be as high as 24%, the cerebral high kicks in quickly. On its onset, Black Jack melts away the negative feelings by delivering a euphoric buzz accompanied by mental clarity. At the same time, it provides energy to get things done but not to the point of being utterly hyperactive.

That being said, the physical effects Black Jack delivers is just the right amount of relaxation. It brings the body into a state of comfort that soothes the muscles. The calming effects induce body relaxation without causing laziness or heavy drowsiness.

Overall, the mental and body high of Black Jack is quite surreal. Imagine sitting on a couch, after dinner. All that there is left to do is to relax, watch some television, and unwind. For a strain that is best used at the end of a long day, it is hard to find a better choice than Black Jack.

Adverse Reactions

When using strains, it is expected that the amazing feeling it delivers also comes with unwanted effects. Fortunately, Black Jack is easy on adverse effects.

Aside from the typical dryness of mouth and eyes, other side effects would likely occur when smoking too much. Doing so may cause a mild headache or dizziness.

Medical Use and Benefits

Those who use cannabis for medical purposes know that it is rare to find a strain that has both high THC and CBD content. It means that it has components that could benefit not just those who are suffering from mental illness, but also those experiencing physical ailments. Black Jack is definitely a needle in a haystack for the medical cannabis world.

Because of the blissful feeling it delivers, the strain makes it easier for patients with depression, anxiety, and the like to manage their stress levels. As the psychoactive elements play its part, getting through the day becomes more tolerable. In fact, for a few hours, it can become pleasurable.

Black Jack benefits those who are suffering from physical pain greatly. The numbing and calming buzz it induces helps those who are suffering from headaches, chronic pain, and fatigue.

Growing Black Jack

Raising a baby, that is what cultivating Black Jack is like as it does require more attention from the growers. Hence, it is not the best strain for beginners.

When grown indoors, flowering can be triggered in around 9 to 10 weeks with yields up to a whopping 600 grams per square meter.

A lot of sunlight is needed when growing Black Jack outdoors. Under normal conditions, it begins flowering in the first week of October. What’s great is that it could produce a yield of up to 700 grams per plant (and sometimes more).

Have you grown or used Black Jack? If not, would you like to get your hands on this strain? Please leave a comment to let us know what you think. We want to hear from you.
