Odor and Flavors
Alien OG tastes the same as it smells. Fortunately, both its parent strains are very pleasant. From the moment users hold its bud up to breaking it into smaller pieces, a citrusy and lemony scent blends with its earthy freshness. Upon using, the flavorful smoke is smooth on the throat and easy on the lungs.
Alien OG is well known in the cannabis world. Due to its out-of-this-world high THC, a few tokes are all it takes to feel its impactful high. In fact, it is easy to say that this strain belongs to the conversation on the most potent hybrids in the world.
Recreational users have different reasons or needs for using cannabis. Some prefer the cerebral experience, while others prefer the body high. Alien OG delivers the best of both worlds although it does lean more towards its Indica side.
It begins with a euphoric buzz that uplifts the spirit and induces happiness. Early on, most users would feel a heightened sense of focus and mental clarity. Soon, the physical effects set in and put users in deep relaxation.
Used in moderation, this insanely potent strain will induce laziness and result in couch-lock. Use a little bit more, and the buzzing mental and body high will result in a spacey trip. In other words, it leaves users heavily stoned.
It does not matter if strains are potent or otherwise. When it comes to adverse reactions, there is always some to expect with its use. Primarily, most people experience dry mouth and eyes with varying degree of severity. In essence, use more then it becomes more pronounced.
Alien OG, though, can also cause some people to feel paranoid. In most cases, it is mainly due to overindulgence. However, there are also people who are predisposed to such condition. Hence, even if they were to use a moderate amount, they are also likely to feel paranoia setting in.
Other than feeling paranoid, some people may feel dizzy or have a mild headache.
Medical Use and Benefits
The same effects that made Alien OG so desirable for recreational users are also the ones that provide medical benefits.
By inducing a euphoric mental high, the strain can wipe out stress. As happiness sets in, it helps people with depression and other kinds of mental illness such as depression cope better.
The anti-inflammatory and sedating traits of the strain, meanwhile, is useful in soothing sore muscles and inducing deep physical relaxation. As such, it can be helpful as a pain reliever and provide relief to those who suffer from chronic illnesses.
The sedation does not only put users in deep relaxation. As the effects of the strain subside, most users are also likely in dreamland. Hence, people with trouble sleeping should find it handy to have.
Growing Alien OG
Growers can grow this plant in both indoor and outdoor environments. It is also resistant to molds and plant diseases. Even so, it is not the best strain for beginners in cultivating cannabis. One of the reasons for that is because Alien OG can be finicky. It is not as simple as needing more attention, but also because it requires a certain level of experience to reach full maturity.
Alien OG has a typical Indica plant structure in that it does not grow tall. It also has an outward growth, which means growers will have to trim its leaves especially inside a tight space typical of indoor habitats. The careful pruning is intended to allow light to reach otherwise covered parts. Rockwood potting and a reasonable amount of nutrients are also something to consider since developing a root system is quite a challenge.
Furthermore, the plant may be resistant to molds, but the growers will still have to maintain proper humidity. It is ready to transition to the bloom phase in 8 to 9 weeks with each square meter producing around 300 grams of buds.
Growing it outdoors, a semi-humid to warm climate is ideal. Flowering starts in October with yields of up to 400 grams per plant.
