Animal Cookies Strain Review – Bonza Blog

In many ways, Animal Cookies is the kind of strain that hides beneath its beautiful appearance. Lurking underneath though is a potent hybrid that delivers an exceedingly exceptional full-body relaxation. Furthermore, the same Indica traits have proven to be an invaluable tool for people seeking comfort from pain.

Credit goes to BC Bud Depot, which did not settle but improved upon an already excellent strain. When they released an S1 version of Girl Scout Cookies, they knew they already had a better variety than the mother plant itself. In fact, it went on to win the High Times Cannabis Cup. Still, they were not satisfied. While some other breeders may release the S1 under a new name, they continued to work on improving it.

So, the breeder crossed the S1 strain with Fire OG. As a result, they were able to develop what is to be called Animal Cookies – a hybrid that comes with a better plant structure and can produce a better yield than the original Girl Scout Cookies.

Odor and Flavors

One of the traits inherited by the strain is the excellent aroma and flavors of Girl Scout Cookies. It comes with a unique and exotic odor that reeks of the dank earth with a sweet and sour note. Adding to the blend is a very subtle floral scent that is reminiscent of being a short distance away from a flower garden on an early morning.

Upon smoking, most people will find its smoke smooth on the throat. Its earthy aroma is not much apparent, but it does have delightful hints of nuts and vanilla.

Effects

Even though Animal Cookies comes with a smaller Sativa side, the same traits that made Fire OG famous with users are evident at the onset of the mental high it induces. It delivers an uplifting sensation that seems to melt away stress. As such, it results in users feeling not only happy but also euphoric.

Early on, too, the strain also sparks some creativity and sharper focus. With an energizing buzz, most people using the hybrid are more likely to feel motivated in doing their tasks.

Soon, the beast within takes off its cover and creeps into the body. As the physical effects begin to intensify, its sedating properties help soothe the muscle, which results in a full-body relaxation.

Depending on how much users used, some may find it a struggle to resist the laziness that sets in while others merely succumb and stay locked on the couch. In this case, these same people also tend to have a spacey high.

Adverse Reactions

All cannabis strains can cause some adverse effects. In the case of Animal Cookies, because it does have a very high THC content, that means it is very potent. For that reason, the same reactions resulting with the use of marijuana seems to be more pronounced.

Users of this strain can expect to experience dry mouth and eyes. Depending on tolerance level, some may also experience feeling more anxious. Besides that, a few may even have a mild headache or feel dizzy.

Medical Use and Benefits

The heavy-hitting Indica effects are what makes Animal Cookies so useful to medical cannabis users. However, that is not to say that its cerebral high does not have any benefits at all. For instance, the euphoric buzz helps wipe out stress. Its ability to uplift the spirit alters the mood of people so that those who have depression can manage their emotion better.

Once the body high kicks in, it relieves the body of tensions. It helps soothe aching muscles, which in turn, results in the full-body relaxation. Consequently, the sedating effects can provide tremendous comfort to people suffering from pains caused by chronic illnesses.

As the effects of Animal Cookies start to wane a little bit, most people are put in a dilemma. On the one hand, they tend to feel hungry. But getting up to eat some food may prove to be too difficult as the sedating effects can be too much. Instead, many users end up sleeping.

It may take a few sessions before users learn the volume of herbs needed to stimulate the appetite or to go to sleep.

Growing Animal Cookies

Growing Animal Cookies is not recommended for beginners due to the amount of tending to it requires. Although it is a significant improvement over Girl Scout Cookies, it remains a little finicky. The result of nurturing the plant, though, is the beautiful buds covered with orange hairs and hazy, amber resins that is reminiscent of Fire OG. Its leaves may also come with a purple hue if growers decide to trigger the anthocyanins.

Indoors, the plant will thrive using soil as medium or hydroponics. One thing that needs to be considered is to use carbon filter in a grow tent if privacy is an issue. As for maintenance, the leaves of the plants will need to be trimmed or pruned to allow light to pass through as well as have better ventilation. It should be ready for flowering in nine to ten weeks with each square meter having a yield of 350 grams of buds.

Outdoors, the plant will thrive in a warm climate. It is tolerant for lower temperatures though. At best, each plant can produce up to 400 grams of buds. The flowering time should occur during the third to fourth week of September.
